Open House Forum on Fair Housing

Jan 5, 2017 | Advocacy, Disability, Outreach, Public Awareness, Training

Have you experienced any of the following examples of housing discrimination?

  • Being refused the right to rent or buy a house based on your disability, race, religion, color, national origin, gender, or familial status (children)
  • A landlord told you a house/apartment was unavailable when it in fact was available and continued to be advertised
  • OR, being refused to have a support or service animal in your house/apartment.

These are just a few of discriminatory behaviors protected under the Fair Housing Act.

To learn more join Marlene Robinson, Regional Fair Housing Specialist, at the Center for Independent Living, 601-3 East Brockway Ave, Morgantown on January 18 beginning at 6 p.m for an Open House Forum.

The Fair Housing Action Network will advocate for fair housing for you.  Call NWVCIL (Northern West Virginia Center for Independent Living) at 304-296-6091 to report complaints or become a volunteer.  You can be compensated for your volunteer efforts.
